Web swinging with Spidey

Last night I saw one shot done by Vernard Buce on his Facebook account with his mini plane and car. I asked him the behind the scenes so I could also try it today using my all-time favorite Marvel Legend figure, The Amazing Spider-Man! Unfortunately it's not the Pizza Spidey but this one is from the TASM 2 movie figure. Despite its eyesore waist problem I'm still digging this figure and I often use this as my subject in toy photography.

To get it started, I search first for a city with buildings that will served as my background. Then after deciding what to use, posing is next. What I love about toys is that you can pose any way you wanted to it's all up to your creativity to make it look nice and swag.

I used blue tack to put Spidey in a gunpla stand so he can sustain the acrobatic pose that I did with his left hand in the front and ready to shoot his web. Last step is photo manipulation in Adobe Photoshop. I admit that I'm not fond of editing toy photos but tested it out and might as well improve my skills so I can create wonderful composite photos in the future.

Here is the final output of the photo and I added web to make it look more realistic. Editing or post processing is one of the major fundamentals in photography and it might help bring out the potential of an ordinary photo.

My view on The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The movie was great... end of story. Kidding! Too much awesomeness for this sequel and I highly recommend to watch especially if you've watched the first movie. So let's start!

I'm a huge fan of Spider-man ever since I was a kid and read a lot of comic books from mainstream up to ultimate universe Spider-man. This movie tried to focus a bit more of the ultimate version but there are some parts that are taken from the mainstream universe ( Earth 616 or the universe the all of us knew in the world of comics). This comic book based movie got into the minds and hearts of non- comic book readers because anyone could relate to Peter Parker and it seems that they have knowledge about the story due to the good sequential of the movie.

It has a darker tone wherein they showed the different day to day problems a normal person could encounter in real life. The movie starts with a flash back from the point of view of Richard Parker ( Peter's Dad) which gave us a glimpse of what really happened before and after the night they left Peter to Uncle Ben. It is one of the important part of the movie because it fills out some of the mysteries in the first film. Then enter the character of Max Dillon/ Electro (Jamie Foxx), a man obsessed to Spider-man. It's quite disappointing that his character quickly shifts from good to bad without any good reason. I'm glad that they didn't use the green and yellow spandex suit for him and his electric form looks awesome. Harry Osborn was also introduced in this movie. They revealed that Norman and Harry have a genetic disease but Norman considered it as a gift for Harry. Harry is desperate man trying to find a cure for himself that led to his change in persona or as we all know the Green goblin in this movie. I'm not digging this armored goblin ever since Sam Raimi's Spider-man. I still preferred the one in the comics and I may also consider the ultimate green goblin. Spider-man is also nerfed in this film. If you will observe it carefully some of his punches seems weak because in the comics his strength level is considered as superhuman as he can lift up 10 to 15 tons but he might be restraining himself.

The middle part shows more on Peter and Gwen's relationship. Damn it! They build up their chemistry and everybody love the way they show their affection towards each other through ups and downs. Everybody can relate to them even if you're single right now you will be hook with their chemistry and to add more Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are real life couples but sad thing they did what fanboys thought before. It was a neck breaking scene :'(

The visual effects are superb and you might wish to become Spider-man swinging around the buildings of New York city. Fighting scenes are epic especially the fight between Spider-man and Electro and you know what's nice in this Garfield's Spider-man? He's cracking jokes while fighting crime that gave most of the audience a laughter on their seats. Hello SPARKLES!!!

Watch for some potential EASTER EGGS in the film. They introduced Felicia possibly Felicia Hardy a.k.a. Black Cat an ally/foe/lover of Spider-man in the comics. They also introduced Alistair Smythe who works for Oscorp and he tried to study Electro in the film. In the comics he is known for his menacing "Spider-slayer" so is it possible to see that mini robots on future films? Why not? The shadow figured from the after credits from the first film who questioned Dr. Curt Conners whether he'd told Peter Parker the truth about his father also shows and was named as "Gustav Fiers" or the gentleman. He was asked by Harry to build a team and keep it small. They started with Aleksei Sytsevich by giving a mechanical "Rhino" suit. To sum it up, it teased us for a possible Spider-man vs. Sinister six!

In addition, this movie sequel shows the imperfection of life of Peter Parker. You may have the power but you lose the love of your life. I remember one fellow fanboy (Jm EƱola) told me during FCBD 2012, "no matter what happens, Peter's life will be always like that just like a normal people have." There will always be imperfection and it's up to us how you will cope up and try to make it perfect.

That's it true believers. Amazing and touching movie. 9/10 for me and you should watch it, Sparkles!!!

It looks like the web head is now doing it's marketing and promotional activities. It might be early but I can this is a good move for the whole team of spider-man. According to SuperHeroHype, they spotted a new billboard for the return of the The Amazing Spider-Man right in the Sony Picture's lot.

Superior Costume!

As we continue Marvel’s Spider-Month, I would like to feature in this post about the new costume of the so-called The Superior Spider-man. The costume has a resemblance with the previous costumes of spider-man specifically the scarlet spider-man costume because of the big spider insignia. The blue parts are now colored black even the lenses are colored black which I think dull tho it triggers some futuristic style most specially with the added watch like web shooter at the arms. The new costume also features four spider arms, which has a big resemblance with Dr. Octopus ( Otto Octavius’ previous life). About the current issue, Spider-man infiltrates shadowland to free the people that reside near the Hell’s kitchen in which Kingpin’s empire of Hand Ninjas are located.

New Costume and his Spider Patrol

Another interesting in this story is robots and minions are added. Not the despicable minions but Spider-man’s Spider patrol. Each one of are armed with guns which I find it usual. I thought they possessed some king of semi- spider-like abilities. This issue shows me that giving a new twist to Marvel’s most popular super hero is good. Seriously, I am digging this issue! Can you imagine that? Spider-man is now commanding and with added cool stuffs. But despite the cool stuff, I still prefer Peter Parker as Spider-man. I miss his habit of cracking of jokes while crime fighting.

Anyway to give you some other information (SPOILER ALERT), there is one spider- bot which is controlled by Green Goblin. Did I say Green Goblin? Oh fvck! He’s back with his own gang and ready to conquer the land of New York. My verdict about the costume 7/10. Added features are good but on the artistic side, plain and boring. For the issue, my verdict is 9/10. Superior Spider-man 14 is good book to pick. Actions and jam packed of excitement are seen in every page of the book. The best place to pick comic books?
